A range of social events will be offered throughout the two weeks of the conference and workshops. These are a fun way to meet other students and academics and offer a great opportunity to network with people from around the world working in conservation. All social events are included in the registration fee.

Our experienced birder, Hugh Possingham, will take participants for a walk to see some local birds. Encountering a mix of rainforest, bush, and urban-adapted birds in a variety of habitats along the Brisbane river and lake-side.
Wednesday 21 January, 7:00 pm, Cromwell College, UQ
Free art exhibition at Cromwell College Common Room by ArteFact who are a collective of scientists and artists that are dedicated to exploring new ways of communicating conservation science. Download the flyer.
Thursday 22 January, 6:00 - 10:00 pm, Pizza Caffe at the Schonell Theatre, UQ
Celebrate the end of the conference presentations in a relaxed and informal setting at the Pizza café for dinner, with pizzas on us. Eat, talk and laugh, this night was all about making new friends and having fun.

Your last chance to mingle with new friends over canapes and drinks. We have organised a bus to transport delegates to and from UQ. Delegates are welcome to stay longer at the Hotel past 9pm, but will have to find their own transport back to their accommodation.
